HUGH JACKMAN IN "SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN"? CATHERINE ZETA JONES JOINS GERARD BUTLER IN "PLAYING THE FIELD"! DISNEY'S "THE BALLAD OF NESSIE" PICS!

Here are some fresh updates on the two upcoming Snow White projects. THE BROTHERS GRIMM: SNOW WHITE, which will star Lily Collins as Snow White, Armie Hammer as prince and Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, will have some stunning costumes to fit the breathtaking visual style of its director

Tarsem Singh. Tarsem revealed that everything will be in snow, but the costumes will be colourful and extravagant (if you remember both of his previous films THE CELL and THE FALL featured some of the best costumes ever seen on film). He also said that the film will be like if you looked at Gaudi’s architecture, based in England, done like a turn-of-the-century Russian film by an Indian guy :) The second project on the same tale SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, which kinda went downwards after Viggo Mortensen refused the title role (he hated the script) beside Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron as Evil Queen, is now trying to persuade Hugh Jackman to replace him in the role of the Huntsman who teaches Snow White how to beat the Evil Queen.

SHORT HEADLINES *According to "MovieWeb" Warner Bros and the producers of HARRY POTTER will make a film adaptation of French fantasy saga THE ADVENTURES OF OSCAR PILL

which follows an unusual teenage boy, who can travel inside living beings including humans. *XERXES, the prequel to cult Spartan epic 300, which will follow the rise of the Persian ruler describing the battles and events which lead to things which happened in 300, will probably change its title when the production starts and it won't be directed by Zack Snyder again, who is busy with SUPERMAN.*Oooh, I've always wanted to see Gerard Butler and Catherine Zeta Jones together in a film and that will now really happen. Zeta will join him in PLAYING THE FIELD, a film about a famous ex soccer star who starts coaching his little son's team and becomes a love target of lonely soccer moms and other ladies in town. Catherine Zeta Jones will play a vixen newscaster. The film also stars Uma Thurman, Jessica Biel and Dennis Quaid.

to live in the moor they now call home. Setting the adventure into motion is a greedy land developer named MacFroogle, who decided to build a mini-golf empire on top of Nessie's home.

CASTING HEADLINES Michael Fassbender will take the lead role in GOOD VIBRATIONS,a film about Terri Hooley, a famous punk rock impresario. *Bret McKenzie has been officially confirmed as the new addition to THE HOBBIT cast where

he will play elf Lindir of Rivendell. *Sean Hayes, hilarious Jack from WILL AND GRACE has been cast as Larry in the Farrelly brothers THE THREE STOOGES remake. *The new main contenders for the lead role in THE BOURNE LEGACY are Jeremy Renner and Luke Evans. One of them will continue the franchise without Matt Damon. *Scarlett Johansson's UNDER THE SKIN  should start shooting this summer according to "Beyond Hollywood", with her playing an alien on Earth, disguised in the flawless body of a mesmerizing woman. She scours remote highways and desolate scenery  using her voracious sexuality to snare human prey. My boys will surely like that one :)

Brilliant bestselling book TRASH from British writer Andy Mulligan has found its dreamteam for a film adaptation. The story will be adapted by amazing Richard Curtis (author of British TV classics BLACK ADDER, THE VICAR OF DIBLEY, and film classics FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, NOTTING HILL) and directed by award winning  and equally amazing filmmaker Stephen Daldry (THE HOURS, and one of my most favourite films ever THE READER). The thrilling story is set in the third world, and follows three boys who eke out a living picking through rubbish mounds, until a surprise discovery sets them on a breathtaking adventure pitting their wits against corruption and authority.

JOSH HUTCHERSON & LIAM HEMSWORTH IN "HUNGER GAMES"! "IMMORTALS" TRAILER WILL BE SUPER SENSATIONAL! IS METALLO "SUPERMAN"S ENEMY? "PORT ROYAL" IS NEW PIRATE EPIC TV SHOW!

Well, the casting for two lead male roles in the film adaptation of the popular bestselling saga THE HUNGER GAMES is finally over. Two young actors who will join Jennifer Lawrence, who is taking the lead female role, are Josh Hutcherson (THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT, JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH) and Liam Hemsworth (THE LAST SONG). Hutcherson will play Peeta Mellark, a boy who goes with Katniss Everdeen, the main heroine to the futuristic arena in which teenagers have to fight to death. He also has feelings for her. Hemsworth will play Gale Hawthorne, a boy who has a transcendental connection with Katniss and who hopes he will be reunited with her after she faces all the horrors in the arena to save her younger sister.

According to latest rumor, the villain which Henry Cavill will have to fight against in Zack Snyder's SUPERMAN might be Metallo. It's interesting that Lois Lane's (Amy Adams) father, General Sam Lane,  considering Superman a potential threat to national security, will use kryptonite to power an experimental cyborg super soldier named Metallo who will then be used as a weapon against Superman. There are also rumors that Lindsay Lohan is meeting up with the producers around the potential female role connected with Lex Luthor.  Off course, these are all still rumors, and the shooting should start some time this summer.

According to "FirstShowing" who saw the trailer for upcoming epic IMMORTALS at WonderCon, the film is an astounding, sensational mix of 300 and CLASH OF THE TITANS but with Tarsem Singh's unique visual splendor. Epic scenes will have the scope and scale of LORD OF THE RING's Minas Tirith battle, with thousands upon thousands of troops lined up outside of a massive mountain fortress. Mickey Rourke, who plays the main villain King Hyperion looks insanely brutal and intimidating in one of the scenes, wearing a helmet with sharp metal spikes that encircled his entire head. There will also be tons of stylized slow-mo fight scenes and Luke Evans, playing Zeus, swinging a whip made entirely of fire.

Now, for all of you who like naval adventures, pirates and period costumes this could be a nice little new show. Named PORT ROYAL, this one hour TV series will be set in the late 17th century on the island of Jamaica, chronicling the namesake port's notorious rise as the richest and wickedest city in the new world, and as a self governing safe haven for cutthroat pirates, corrupt politicians, and ruthless merchants. The project will be produced by Valhalla Entertainment, a company which scored great success last year creating THE WALKING DEAD for AMC and which also produced medieval epic show CAMELOT which has just started airing at Starz.

If, upcoming space epic GREEN LANTERN, starring Ryan Reynolds as the famous intergalactic hero, proves successful at the box office this June,

the sequel will be produced as well, and Blake Lively, who plays Green Lantern's gorgeous female counterpart and lover Carol Ferris, could turn into the villain Star Sapphire. In the upcoming film she is completely human and lives on earth. But she turns into a villain in the later comics which means we could see her as Star Sapphire in a possible sequel. Star Sapphire wears a crystal resembling an actual star sapphire that grants her powers and represents the symbolic weapon used by the queen of an immortal race of warrior women.
SHORT HEADLINES *I've informed you recently that ATONEMENT director Joe Wright is planning a new film adaptation of ANNA KARENINA with Keira Knightley, Jude Law as Karenin and Aaron Johnson as Vronski, and now according to  rumors, young Saoirse Ronan could also join them.

As you know, Kenneth Branagh's epic film about the famous hero from Asgard will feature some breathtaking costumes as you can see from the helms worn by Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as naughty God Loki. *Young Lily Collins has signed on to play Snow White in Tarsem Singh's BROTHERS GRIMM: SNOW WHITE alongside Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen and Armie Hammer as prince.

In other superhero news this Monday, Dwayne Johnson has revealed that he is ready to accept the role of Black Adam in CAPTAIN MARVEL if that film ever gets into production. Black Adam is the enemy of Captain Marvel. In another story, Patrick Dempsey wants the role of DOCTOR STRANGE, a super hero from Marvel's universe, who uses his innate mystic powers to protect the world around him. And, speaking of super heroes, check out a sexy poster from X-MEN: FIRST CLASS which features gorgeous January Jones as the White Queen aka Emma Frost on a retro designed TOTAL FILM cover. Gotta love those white boots :) The film premieres this June.

Those of you who are regular visitors of HOLLYWOOD SPY, know that my most anticipated film of the decade is IMMORTALS by visual genius Tarsem Singh (THE FALL, THE CELL) which just got its first, absolutely mesmerizing, posters released. We are anxiously waiting for the first trailer.

Two weeks ago HOLLYWOOD SPY has informed you that the new fantasy adventure called THE SEVENTH SON is being planned at Warner Bros based on THE LAST APPRENTICE saga which follows Thomas, seventh son of a seventh son, who is apprenticed

to the local Spook, whose job is to fight evil spirits and witches, so he expects a life of danger. However, the boy doesn't realize just how soon he'll face a powerful enemy alone, as an evil witch escapes her confinement while the Spook is away. Thomas is forced to use his wits, and the help of his enigmatic new friend, Alice, to fight the evil witch.  As you know Jeff Bridges will play the old Spook, and Julianne Moore will be the evil witch, but now there are news that Sam Claflin (my favourite among young British actors) has taken the lead role. We've seen talented Brit Claflin in PILLARS OF THE EARTH and we shall watch him in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN ON STRANGER TIDES.

SHORT HEADLINES Terry Gilliam's sf adventure TIME BANDITS from the 80's could get a remake. There's a plan about a whole franchise based on the story about a kid who travels through time with some crazy bunch of dwarfs. It's interesting that the remake will be aimed for young audience unlike the original. *The latest addition to THE HOBBIT cast could be Bret McKenzie. Apparently Peter Jackson wants him back as the elf Figwit from the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy. *Ryan Reynolds will give his voice to the main hero in DreamWorks' TURBO, a crazy animated film about an ordinary garden snail with an impossible dream: to become the fastest snail in the world :)

According to "FirstShowing" this stunning and touching epic drama focuses on the Cristeros War from the 1920's  which started after a rebellion over the Mexican government's 1917 attempt to remove the influence of the Catholic Church and secularize the country. The film is directed by Dean Wright (in his directorial debut, he is known as a visual effects expert who worked on LORD OF THE RINGS and CHRONICLES OF NARNIA) and the music is composed by the best among the best - James Horner (TITANIC, AVATAR)!
