HOLLYWOOD SPY SPOTLIGHTS: "COWBOYS & ALIENS" WITH DANIEL CRAIG, HARRISON FORD AND OLIVIA WILDE READY TO PREMIERE THIS JULY!

 Although I'm not personally overly excited about it, new sf hit directed by John Favreau COWBOYS & ALIENS could very easily become the biggest blockbuster of the summer 2011 after it premieres on July 29th. Having a James Bond Daniel Craig

and an Indiana Jones Harrison Ford in the cast alongside gorgeous Olivia Wilde, with the plot in which cowboys, gangsters and Indians fight against aliens, the film could attract a big audience.

COWBOY & ALIENS TIDBITS

The story was written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman who brought us the brilliant script of STAR TREK. The cast also includes Sam Rockwell and Keith Carradine. Robert Downey Jr and Eva Green were the first candidates for the lead roles but thankfully they didn't get them! Harrison Ford didn't want to wear a hat in the film but he had to since he plays a cowboy. Film budget was around $100 million! Olivia Wilde has a bare chested scene in the film in front of the huge mass of Indians.

THE STORY OF THE FILM

The story is set in 1873 in Arizona. A stranger (Daniel Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don't welcome strangers, and nobody makes

a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). It's a town that lives in fear.
But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.
Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he's been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive

traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents, townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors, all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

in THE BORGIAS has just joined the new adaptation of GREAT EXPEC TATIONS  To be directed by always sensual Mike Newell (PRINCE OF PERSIA, LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA), as I already mentioned before the film will feature Helena Bonham Carter as rich lady Miss Havisham, who helps a poor orphan Pip throughout his life, and Ralph Fiennes as escaped convict Magwitch. Grainger will play Miss Havisham's adopted daughter Estella who falls in love with the poor orphan (to be played by Jeremy Irvine).

The new adaptation of ROMEO AND JULIET which will feature young Hailee Steinfeld as Julia and Holly Hunter as her

protective nanny with young Ed Westwick as Tybalt, has just found its Romeo. According to "Variety" the lead male role will go to dashing young actor Douglas Booth(THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH). According to "Variety" our dear Brit James McAvoy will replace Michael Fassbender in Danny Boyle's TRANCE, an action drama about an art heist that goes terribly wrong. It seems our dear Luke Evans won't star in ONLY GOD FORGIVES after all :( The lead role has just been taken by Ryan Gosling who will play a career criminal who runs a drug smuggling operation out of a Bangkok boxing gym.

I'm a bit late on this one, since I didn't have space to post it sooner, but here's the first trailer for THE KILLER ELITE, an action flick

with an elite cast which follows Danny (Jason Statham), one of the world's most skilled special-ops agents. Senegal drops new law amid protests

The Sengalese president has dropped a controversial electoral law amid opposition protests in the capital, Dakar, on Thursday.

Opponents of 85-year-old Abdoulaye Wade criticised the bill, saying it would allow him to easily retain power in next February’s presidential elections.

The current law requires that a candidate be elected with a 50 per cent majority in the first round of voting to avoid facing a run-off.

Al Jazeera spoke to Abir Saksouk-Sasso, a witness to the protests in Dakar

The draft law would reduce that number to only 25 per cent and create a position of vice-president, leaving Wade’s rivals concerned that he has plans to bring his 42-year-old son, Karim, into power.

Justice Minister Cheikh Tidiane Sy told lawmakers debating the bill that the president had “taken into consideration your concerns,” adding to applause that “he asked me to withdraw the draft legislation,” the AFP news agency reported.

Outside parliament and around Dakar, protesters took to the streets voicing outrage of the proposed bill.

Private television stations in Senegal showed footage of Thursday’s protests against the president in cities and towns elsewhere around the West African nation.

Witnesses told Al Jazeera that police fired tear-gas and water cannons at thousands of protesters chanting “Leave Wade” and “Don’t touch my constitution” around the parliament and presidential palace in Dakar.

Several people were injured when crowds clashed with police, according to reports.

I think I’m going to do a little bit of Senegal spam.  Sorry for anyone that isn’t interested.  Senegal is probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.  Senegal has such an interesting culture, and probably some of the nicest people I have ever met.

More on Senegal:  After talking to almost anyone, of any religion, they would usually say that they would pray for you. For your happiness, for whatever ambition you may have just mentioned, whatever.  I’m not religious, and I would actually consider myself agnostic, but I just found this so amazing, and it always made me feel good.

I loved how Senegal’s landscape would change so drastically in such a small area.  We went from the urban city of Dakar, to the nature reserve, to the Pink Lake (the water appears pink because of the salt content of the lake), to this area, which seemed like the middle of the Sahara, but was actually only a few yards from a gorgeous, completely deserted beach with the most amazing, misty blue coastline.

The film will bring a crazy twist on Jane Austin's classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England who are now faced with a new challenge - an army of undead zombies.

And it seems Zack Snyder has finally finished casting roles for MAN OF STEEL. After Russel Crowe was hired to play Superman's biological father Jor-El, the latest gossips say that almost forgotten Julia Ormond is in talks to play his biological mother Lara. As you know, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane will play Clark Kent's adoptive parents, while Amy Adams will play Lois Lane and Michael Shannon will be the villain. Henry Cavill is, off course, the Superman.

A new poster for one of the biggest super hero blockbusters coming out this summer, July 22nd, has also been released today. It features Chris Evans as CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, an ordinary guy who gets made into a powerful super

I've always known she was ignorant, rude and unintelligent but this is just pure diabolical evil.
